How the journey all started...

My journey started off when I was 36 years old who DID NOT fit the profile of colon/rectum cancer. I had to have a full hysterectomy because a CT Scan and Sonogram found a large mass on my ovaries. The stains came back as colon cancer.

This new journey has led me to want to share my story. I wanted to show my son and students that when life throws curve balls at you, you DO NOT dodge them, you face them STRAIGHT on and FIGHT!

I took the information and results and wanted to make something positive. I had no choice I am a wife, a mother (at the time to an 8 year old), and a teacher. It is my journey with cancer and teaching my son and students what real life is about and how you handle it!

Throughout this journey it has allowed my 9 year old son to grow and want to take my experience with Cancer to a different level. He wanted to help other children who are dealing with the same emotions that he faced but they are unable to have the support system he was able to have. He wants all kids to have the support and caring people he had.

This is how OBXKidsKonnect! became alive.

Welcome to OBXKidsKonnect!
